A118C or Mini 805? Both seem to stack up about equally on reliability, video quality, cost, ease of use, etc.
A118
Mini 0805

I’ve had an A118C (capacitor) for a couple months but I’ve been too lazy to actually attach it to my windshield so it just sits on my dash. Good video quality, readable plates during daytime, has noticeable fish-eye effect. It filled up my 32 GB SD card (an old Class 6) and refused to overwrite old files until I cleared them on my computer. Haven’t had any problems since but don’t know if its filled up again. Unit is very small and will be unobstructive mounted in front of the rear view mirror. the “tail” is removable and I don’t plan on using it so I can mount the camera higher up my windshield.

I’ve had a Mini 0805 for about a year now (more, I think). It just works. Video quality is good (you can even go up to 1296p if you want), it takes a Class 10 micro SD, it starts and turns off with the car, and you can’t spot it if you don’t know it’s there.
Ended up buying another one for my other car. I’d recommend it.

One vote A118, one vote Mini 0805. Hmmm...

Too lazy. They’re both on amazon, $3 price difference.

I’ve had a mini 0806 for about 6 months now and I am not really impressed by image quality. My $30 Chinese ebay cam had better picture.

The 0805 is supposed to be better than the 0806

A118 was $20 cheaper when I purchased. 805 was runner up.

I found one for $30 less, so that’s what I’m going for.

You should think about the Mobius dash cam. Very simple, no frills dash cam. You can even install an capacitor for hard-wiring purposes instead of the battery.

Too late. Already received and installed my A118C, very pleased so far.
